SAGE HORSESHOEINGTM

Sage Horseshoeing serves a limited area surrounding Blairsville in southwestern PA. If you want a farrier who understands horses and has the patience and knowledge to provide the hoof care your horse deserves, give us a call. Expert and humane handling of young stock and difficult (problem) horses a specialty.

Travel Time Rates - $30/hour travel time will be charged. I am just a part-timer and it will be likely that you are the only call I will make on a given day. My first fifteen minutes on the road are free but you will be charged the round trip rate minus that first fifteen minutes with partial hours pro-rated. Please understand that my time is valuable as I understand yours to be. Because of the rising costs of fuel and vehicle upkeep it is necessary that I charge for the time I spend on the road to help you and your horse.

Basic Farrier Charges

Saddle Horse Shoeing - Shoes may be hot or cold shaped.

• Basic Shoeing (flat keg shoes) - $95.00
• Barefoot Trim - $40.00
• First-Time Foal Trim - $40.00 + $20.00/hour (pro-rated) after first half-hour (extra time, extra care, extra cost)
• Borium - add $30.00/pair
• Horse handling charges are $50.00/hour + shoeing/trimming fees. This is charged at my discretion. If you can't train him to stand quietly and calmly for farrier work, I can... but my time and expertise will cost you :-)!

Draft Horse Shoeing - I am no longer doing draft horse shoeing.

Draft Horse Barefoot Trim - $75.00

Therapeutic and corrective shoeing prices are subject to the type of work to be done. All prices are subject to change with fluctuations in the cost of materials and fuel.
