For those of you looking for a light in weight but tough in construction saddle, here's the real deal. Fully rigged this saddle will weigh in at around 35# and while it is not a full-on, working cowboy tough rig it has been built with recreational and competitive roping in mind. The rigging is a 7/8 placement #5053 brass plate mounted in skirt. The rear slot is also inskirt with a rawhide reinforcement and a special 3" to 1" leather lug screwed into the bar under the cantle.

Saddle is a 15 1/2" finish seat in 12 - 14 oz., smoothout, chestnut leather (saddle seat is oil dyed black) from Wickett & Craig Tannery. Timberline Saddle Tree Company built the semi-quarter tree with a 90 degree bar set. Other features include: 4" high cantle with 1 1/2" dish; 3" x 5" Guadalajara style wood post horn in cap and wrap style with mulehide cover and dally grooves already set; six button, double stack leather conchas one-piece seat with 1 1/2" Cheyenne roll and extra long back jockey button strings; brass, front concha mounted breastcollar dees; 3" tread brass covered Moran style stirrups from Trina Weber on Nettles shells; 2 1/2" full stirrup leathers with blevins quick change vertical post keepers; California Rose pattern floral panels (10 total) on the front and back jockeys and fender corners; half-breed offside billet and full latigo on the near side (front cincha and 3" flank cincha are  included); 1 1/2" rear billet straps for flank cincha; Oregon style cross-over rope strap; 100% genuine wool skirt lining from W & C.

This saddle can be ordered for a rider that needs a light weight but tough enough to rope in rig. Contact me for a custom saddle price quote.

California Rose pattern is carved in pairs on the front jockeys, back jockeys and the fenders for a total of ten flowers.
Muleskin horn wrap is tapered and dally grooves are already laid in to guide your dallies into a nice, clean stack.
Seat cuts exemplify the care with which all parts of the saddle are carefully cut and fitted, lessening saddle squeaking and "break in".
