SOLD A classic old style from the 40's in Wickett and Craig natural brown leather. A full quarter horse Bowman tree that had a 7" wide gullet to start and a 93 degree bar with Arizona stirrup slot. Roomy, full 16 ", six button seat on a hand-shaped leather ground seat that is flat and very comfortable for all day long riding. Sports a 3 1/2" x 13", straight up, leather bound cantle with about a 1" dish. Swell is 10" slick (no undercut). Horn is the old pelican style with a 5" wide by 4 1/2" deep cap with a 15 degree tilt and a 3 1/2" throat at the base. A great dally roping horn. A little basket stamping to spruce it up is found on the seat jockeys, the small, round skirts, the horn cap and the 18" fenders. This is a double rigged saddle with brass flat plate, 5056 style, at the 7/8 position and 2 1/2" brass dee rings for the flank cincha. Rear billets will be added later, had to get this ready for a show this weekend. Genuine shearling lining, Blevins horizontal post, quick-change buckles, 3" full stirrup leathers. Your choice of stirrup styles from moran to bell to visalia - brass bound to leather covered and any width you want. Latigos can be regular double or offside half-breed or billet style. Any width or style flank cincha you'd like to add. Horn wrap can be latigo or mulehide or left as is and rope strap is yet to be mounted so you can tell me what you want to hang your twine. This saddle has been sold to the manager of the equine program at the Thacher School in Ojai, CA. For a quote on a similar rig, email me at sagehorseman at sagehorsemanship.com. |
