SOLD The Desert Wade - For those looking for a light in weight, but tough in construction saddle, here's a modified Wade style saddle that will fill the bill. It's rigged with an old style Sam Stagg, single fire rigging, 5 1/2 inch flat brass round ring at 3/4 position. It has a real flat and comfortable seat with the stirrups set under the rider for all day long riding comfort. This saddle weighs in at around 30#, depending on what stirrup setup you go with. You can change the oxbows to any style you want for an additional charge. It is not a full-on, tough working cowboy rig, but it would handle light calf roping or competitive ranch roping (Not made for team roping or roping heavy livestock!). It would make a great hot weather, desert country saddle and is light-weight for those looking for a great trail riding rig.

Saddle has 15 finish seat and was made with 14 -15 oz., smoothout, russet saddle skirting from Wickett & Craig Tannery. Timberline Saddle Tree Company built the semi-quarter width (About 6 1/4" wide gullet) tree with a 90 degree bar set and a 10 inch slick fork swell. Other features include: 4" high straight-up cantle with 1" dish; decorative, dome-head brass tacks with tempered stainless steel shanks hold down the cantle binding; 3 1/2" tall wood post horn has a 4 1/2" diameter cap and is finished in the "capped and wrapped"  style with a mulehide covering with the dally grooves already laid in; eight button seat with, double stack leather conchas and extra long back jockey button strings; brass breast collar  dees for old style martingale pulling collar; 3" full stirrup leathers are twisted and set and carry Blevins quick-change, vertical post keepers; one-piece full housing back jockey; split, ultra, ultra small, independent skirts with 100% genuine shearling lining from W & C.; full latigos on both the near and off sides.

A saddle very similar to this can be built for you.  Reata is not included and is not for sale. Email me for details about building a custom saddle made for you.

Capped and wrapped with mulehide and ready to tie one on.

Two-piece, ultra-skinny skirt allows maximum cooling for hot weather and desert country riding.

Brass, single rigging is Sam Stagg style with 1 1/4", 14 ounce saddle leather straps that circle the horn and run behind cantle from ring to ring.

Cantle back detail shows the decorative dome-head brass tacks and single piece rear housing. Independent skirts are ultra, ultra small and allow full ventilation down the spine for a cool back during hot weather riding.
