The Colorado Wade - A saddle built on custom order
for a lady in Colorado, this is a classic, half-breed style (rough-out
seat) saddle built on Timberline Saddle Tree Company's Wade style tree
with semi-quarter bars. Wickett & Craig chestnut leather in 14 oz
thickness, ultra small round skirts, 2 1/2" stirrup leathers and unlined
fenders all help keep the weight off this rig. It is 7/8 double rigged
with a 5056 front cincha flat brass plate, 3" I.D. flat brass rear cinch
dees, 1" brass breast collar and saddle bag seat jockey dees (mounted at
45 degrees). It has a real flat and comfortable 15" seat with the stirrups set under the rider for all day long riding comfort. Horn is a classic 3" x 4" domed, cap and wrapped and mule hide finished wooden dally style horn. The stirrups are 4" tread (leather-covered) Nettles shells, brass covered by Trina Weber of Nampa, Idaho. The saddle sports a 15" finished seat, 4" straight up cantle with a leather binding that is finished on the back with 1/4" dome capped brass tacks with extra long saddle strings that can be cut to length by the new owner. It is gussied up further with six California Rose pattern floral carvings on the rigging plate, the back jockeys and the stirrup fenders. It is a working cowboy tough rig but with the looks fit for a lady. Delivery includes near side latigo, off-side half-breed billet, 1 1/2" flank billets, 3" flank cinch and a martingale with matching floral motif on the breastplate. A saddle similar to this is just waiting for a rider to order it. Contact me for a price quote on your custom saddle. |
