Sold my charro style Wade and built this one to replace it. This is a 15 1/2" inch finish seat saddle built on a 16" seat, full quarterhorse Wade tree from Timberline in Utah - 6 1/2" wide by 8" high by 93 degree gullet with a 9" swell. The bars are built for a short-backed horse, around 22" instead of the standard 24" length. Cantle is 4" high x 13" wide oval profile. Rigging is a leather plate style single rig with #784 bronze hardware rivet in plates from Bork & Sons in Pendleton, Oregon. Rigging position is set at the 3/4 spot for a forward ride. Saddle is in russett, smooth-out, Wickett & Craig, 14 oz. leather. This is a combined basket stamp and floral carved saddle with double bead, Carlos meander and sunburst along the borders. Floral panels are located in the corner of the fenders and on the seat jockeys. Includes a stamped cantle back with dark brown leather binding on the ultra small Cheyenne roll. Horn is capped and wrapped in dark brown leather as well - 3 1/2" tall by 3" wide with a domed 5" finished cap and mulehide dally wrap covering. Fenders are 20" with 58" long, full single stirrup leathers that are twisted and set. Stirrup leathers are 2 1/2" with vertical post Blevins Quick-Change buckles. Sports a pair of brass bound Nettles stirrups from Trina Weber with 4" leather treads. Martingale "dees" are 1" brass Mast style and mounted under the front doubled and stitched concha latigo carriers to hold the double latigo rigging setup. Also sports an Oregon style crossover rope strap, doubled and stitched concha hobble carrier and extra long back jockey saddle strings. Genuine sheepskin with 3/4"+ pile from Wickett & Craig line the ultra small skirts. Will soon include a matching martingale and headstall (pictures coming soon) and a hand-woven, extra-wide, 30-strand mohair cincha with old style Visalia "heart" cincha buckles (pictures coming soon) from Bork and Sons. This is a lightweight but heavy duty and high quality Wade saddle rigged solid for heavy roping. Extremely comfortable, hand-skived, all leather groundseat for all day riding comfort. You can have it now for $5895 (plus shipping and insurance). Two months from now the price will be higher because I am sure after I start using it I will not readily want to part with it. Email any questions or to order a similar rig for yourself. |
